100 Years of Rotary sculpture near completion

The Rotary Club of Singleton on Hunter is excited to announce the installation of the 100 years of Rotary Sculpture, on the 1st and 2nd June 2023.

This sculpture is the culmination of 18 months of design and planning between, RCSOH, Will Maguire and Singleton Council.

It was made possible by a grant from the Singleton Community and Economic Development Fund, which is managed by Singleton Council in partnership with The Bloomfield Group and Glencore.

The sculpture will be installed on the lawn area in-between the Visitor Information Centre and the Arts and Cultural Centre.

This work is a collaboration between RCSOH and local Artist Will Maguire to commemorate 100 years of Rotarians serving their communities.

The Rotary motto of Service Above Self is about the individual Rotarians who work to improve the lives of others, by creating green spaces, providing toilets and clean water or cooking a BBQ to support a local group.

Worldwide, Rotary is close to achieving its goal of eradicating Polio as well as meeting Water, Sanitation, Education and Medical Needs, with over 35,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 220 countries.

The sculpture represents the people behind the Rotary name who strive to improve the lives of others in their communities.

Will Maguire is a local Artist Blacksmith who has his own workshop in the Hunter Valley. Will’s work is exhibited through Australia and Internationally and he has completed many significant public Art Projects.

The RCSOH is very excited to be working with such a talented artist to create a Sculpture to commemorate Rotary's Centenary in Australia.

Look out for posts in the next few days as we showcase the sculpture in situ.
